According to Dr. Akanksha Ranawat, ‘We have yet again started Covid centres in AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital keeping in mind the number of cases we are registering per day. Currently, we are monitoring the situation and all the new Covid patients are under our watch. So, there is no need to worry.’

According to the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, around half of the 18+ Indian population of the country have received at least one dose of the vaccination. Adding on to his statement, he said, ‘23% of the Indian population under 18+ have been fully vaccinated with both the doses. And that it is all because of the hardwork some states put in during the drive.’

No Identity Card, No Vaccine

Initially, the citizens above the age of 60 years were vaccinated and with the passage of time this age limit was dropped down to 40 years. In the latest policy statement shared by the Health and Information ministry, any one holding CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) is eligible for the vaccination. In Pakistan, every citizen can apply for his/her national identity CNIC at the age of 18. This current policy created easy access for vaccination except those who do not have their CNIC.
