India-Philippine deal over defense hardware has made India, a promised exporter in the market

3 mn readRecently, a deal in Manila (Capital of Philippines) has been signed between India’s BrahMos Aerospace and Philippines for Philippine Marines to receive BrahMos cruise missile batteries costing almost $375 million, according to the information. A ramjet supersonic cruise missile with the medium range, BrahMos can be launched from land, aircraft, ships or submarine. It is also considered as one of the fastest supersonic cruise missiles in the world. Developed with the Russian Federation’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya and India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), it is currently a fastest anti-ship cruise missile functioning.

India lost its Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat, in a chopper crash

3 mn readIndia’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat died on 8 December 2021 in a helicopter crash. The crash occurred in the Nilgiris district, at hilly region around Coimbatore and Sulur. In accident his wife Madhulika Rawat along with 13 people died. The accident site was given name as ‘Katteri Nanchappanchatram’. According to the information, General Rawat was on his way to the Defense Services Staff College in Wellington in Coonoor, when the crash happened. IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter lost its contact and crashed around 12:20 pm.
