EU Commission and South Korea charged heavy fine on Google for the reasons noted before by others

3 mn readOn 14th September, a top European court confirmed the charges of breaking competition rules against global tech giant Google and fined 4.1 billion euros. The EU antitrust enforcer has fined Google in three investigations, a total of 8.25 billion euros back more than a decade. Started in 2009 when a PR company filed a complaint against Google to EU Commission Antitrust. Investigation began in 2015 and eventually EU Commission Antitrust fined Google in 2018 for unlawful restrictions on manufacturers of android mobile devices and mobile network operators to consolidate the dominant position of its search engine. Fine was cut down from 4.34 billion euros to 4.125 billion euros, considering the extremity of the crime.
