In 1949, constituent assembly of India formally approved the constitution and in 1950 it came into force. This year India is marking its 71st republic day. The ceremony is always attended by a chief guest, who is generally the head of a state from across the world. It takes place in New Delhi, the capital of India known as administrative district.
