The final vote count revealed 62 votes in favor of “upholding the original decision of the Legislative Yuan, thereby opposing the reconsideration proposal,” and 51 votes against “upholding the original decision, thus supporting the reconsideration proposal.” Consequently, the reconsideration proposal did not pass. It is anticipated that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) caucus will request a constitutional interpretation after the president promulgates the law.
