During this meeting, Jinping called Gates an ‘old friend’ and said that he hoped the two countries would find a way to cooperate and work together to benefit them. The meeting was held at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing, a traditional location used by Chinese leaders over the years to receive senior guests from outside countries. Xi enjoyed meeting with the Microsoft Co-founder and philanthropist for the first time in three years. He added that Bill Gates was the first American entrepreneur he completed this year.
