Regarding recent leaks about Pakistan Army Generals corruptions in Suisse Secrets, as an Eat News correspondent, I request prominent Scholar, Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa, a Ph.D. in War Studies from King’s College London and author of two books (1. Military Inc.: Inside Pakistan’s Military Economy 2- Pakistan’s Modernity Between the Military and Militancy) for comments, she replied, “What can I comment except that this is the sorry state of affairs is due to lack of accountability of the military. For years we are told that military is above board and now we know it is not”.
Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa is the first author who briefly exposed assets and enterprises of the Pakistan Military in her two books with deep research within Pakistan Military corporations.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif, former defense minister of Pakistan and 5th-time Member of National Assembly (MNA) of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), tweeted about the corruption of Pakistan Army General and said, “Today, Afghanistan is mired in starvation and poverty. The 40-year-old Afghan jihad has destroyed generations of the Afghan people, and in Pakistan, this jihad has made generations of people billionaires.
May Allah help and have mercy on our Afghan brothers. Amen”.
That is not the first time Pakistan Army Generals corruption has been exposed. Almost all leaks and investigative reports related to crime and wrongdoing always marked Pakistani Army Generals in headlines from decades to time.
Previously in August 2020, Pakistani Prominent Journalist Ahmad Noorani published a massive corruption story of Pakistani three-star General Asim Saleem Bajwa and his family. Pakistani investigative journalist Ahmed Noorani published a dozen documents related to Asim Saleem Bajwa and his family’s corruption-related story on his website.
Asim Saleem Bajwa was Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, from 2012 to 2016.
Asim Saleem Bajwa also served as chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority and the special assistant to the prime minister of Pakistan.
Pakistani Journalist Noorani published documentary evidence that Asim Saleem Bajwa’s family- who come from a middle-class family-became very wealthy essentially overnight in the United States of America.
Present Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan almost always raises corruptions issues in Pakistan in every speech. He has also promised that his Government will bring back corruptions money in Pakistan, so we have to see how Imran Khan’s Government handles Pakistan’s Powerful Military top Army Generals’ crimes and what action be taken against Army Generals’ families, and other Military Generals in Pakistan in coming days.
